1944 home in Fernwood

The tree lined streets of the Fernwood neighbourhood are home to a number of notable heritage residences, mid century cottages, bungalows and ranchers all equally unique adding vibrancy to the village vibe.

The vision for this floor restoration was to retain as much character feeling as possible but add in some urban flare, blending the classic and modern. The existing Fir floors made for a great foundation for this transformation, creating depth to the monochromatic backdrop.  Our team sourced, installed, and refinished the kitchen floors using reclaimed wood to match the existing floors, repaired and patched the areas where the renovation saw walls removed and switched out the more dated forced air registers for some custom wood upgrades. The final touch to tie together this chic black and white interior design was a white-washed stain blend, paired with a Waterbase finish, intended to tone down the strong amber highlights normally found in Fir flooring.

The results are a crisp, classy and balanced ambiance.
